Cara al comienzo de las festividades navideñas mis amigos pintores y yo hemos decidido reunirnos y con la colaboración de Agrojardín en Estepona, exponer nuestras obras de arte en dicho centro. Queremos aprovechar esta ocasión para invitaros a visitarnos y así también disfrutar de las instalaciones de Agrojardin.
As part of the beginning of the Christmas Festivities, my fellow painters and I have decided to meet, and with the collaboration of the garden center, Agrojardin, exhibit our art work. We would like to invite you to visit us and enjoy what this center has to offer.

SILVIA VALLEJO
Dibuja y pinta desde la niñez, pero deja el arte como hobby y pasa a estudiar Marketing y Ventas, complementado con idiomas, en lugar de estudiar Bellas Artes. Y hasta hace 5 años trabaja en un Hotel de 5 estrellas como Jefe de Ventas y Coordinadora de Grupos y Eventos. Al dejar la hostelería es cuando se pone a pintar profesionalmente.
Pinta a óleo en lienzo y madera. Dependiendo del proyecto, integra en algunas de sus obras, materiales como telas, papeles, cartones, arena, conchas, etc…, con la intención de crear sombras, relieves y texturas naturales.
Hace retratos de personas y animales por encargo, así como encargos destinados a decoración interior.
Ha expuesto en el Festival de Arte en Marbella en Junio 2010 y 2011, en la Galeria La Perla en Los Boliches en Agosto del presente año y también ha participado en la exposición en la calle de Siente Marbella, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Marbella. Silvia Vallejo has been drawing and painting since childhood, but as a hobby, She study´s Sales & Marketing and languages, instead of Fine Arts. Until 5 years ago, she works in a 5 star hotel in Marbella as Sales Manager and Group & Events Coordinator. She leaves Tourism and she takes up painting on a professional basis.
She uses oil paints, on canvas and wood. Depending on the project, Silvia experiments with different materials (cloths, papers, cardboard, sand, shells, etc..) with the intention of creating natural shadows, textures and embossments.
Silvia does commissioned portraits and mascots, and takes orders of art work designed for interior decoration.
She has exhibited on two occasions at the Art Festival in Marbella in the years 2010 and 2011 and has also participated in art exhibitions in the Old Part of Marbella, in collaboration with the Town Hall.

ALEJANDRO RIVERA
A la edad de 14 años me traslado a Cádiz y allí me formo en la escuela de Artes y Oficios, antigua escuela de Bellas Artes.
Especializado en interiorismo, sin embargo nunca abandono la actividad pictórica, y participo en exposiciones colectivas durante varios años.
En Madrid formo parte activa de las corrientes alternativas, tanto en pintura como en grupos independientes de teatro, donde trabajo como actor y escenógrafo. Realizo varias exposiciones colectivas en salas y vía pública. De vuelta a Cádiz me dedico de lleno al interiorismo, haciendo todo tipo de proyectos y dirigiendo las obras. Durante 16 años soy jefe de estudio de la División Comercial de El Corte Inglés de Cádiz.
Después de esta etapa, creo mi propio negocio dedicado a la importación de India, diseñando muebles que son fabricados allí.
En 2009, fijo mi residencia en Marbella, donde me dedico por completo a la pintura exponiendo en vía pública. Principalmente trabajo con acrílicos a pincel o espátulas, siendo la primera impresión, lo que más me motiva. Realizo retratos en pastel, grafito, carboncillo ó sanguina. Por encargo realizo copias de maestros clásicos. Mis temas principales siempre tienen una clara influencia marroquí y simbolismo de otras culturas.
Alejandro Rivera, Spanish born in Morocco.
When he is 14 years old he moves to Cádiz and there he goes to the Art and Trade School, former Fine Arts School.
He specializes in interior decorating, but never stops painting and participates in various collective exhibitions throughout the years.
In Madrid he becomes part of the artistic and cultural movement, joining theatre groups, working as an actor and set designer. He continues painting and exhibits his art work with other artists in collective exhibitions and in urban areas.
Alejandro goes back to Cádiz and dedicates his time to interior decoration, where he is responsible for different projects and works. For 16 years he is the Manager of the Commercial División of Interior Decoration of the Corte Inglés in Cádiz.
At this stage of his life, he decides to leave the Corte Inglés and creates his own business, importing from India, furnitures designed by him.
In 2009, Alejandro Rivera comes to Marbella, where he dedicates his time to painting and exhibiting his art in urban areas. Initially he works with acrylics with paintbrushes and palette knives, being the first impression that mostly motivates him. He does portraits in pastel, grafite, charcoal and chalk drawings. His main subjects are clearly influenced by the Moroccan culture and symbolism of other cultures.
Javier Vela, docente de profesión, ejerce como profesor en un Instituto de la localidad malagueña de San Pedro de Alcántara, donde compagina la enseñanza de la Historia del Arte con su otra vocación, la pintura, en la que se formó como autodidacta y en la que se viene volcando durante los últimos años, trabajando paisaje y retrato. Ha realizado varias exposiciones: Málaga (2005), Istán, (2008), colectiva en Benahavís (2009) y participado en el Festival Internacional de Arte Marbella 2011.

Javier Vela, a teacher by profession (BA in the University Complutense of Madrid and Ph.D. in Málaga), professor in a high school in the town of San Pedro de Alcántara, Málaga, where he combines teaching of Art History and his other vocation, painting, this last having enriched his life. Self-taught, these past few years he has been specializing in landscapes and portraits. He has had several exhibitions over the years: Málaga (2005), Istán (2008), collective Benahavís (2009) and Festival International Art Marbella 2011.
Sonsoles Ruiz Sánchez
Pintora Muralista titulada como Técnico Superior en Artes Aplicadas al Muro por la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de La Palma (Madrid, España), con una experiencia profesional de más de 12 años.
Desarrolla su actividad en terrenos de diversa índole como: la pintura decorativa (estucos, mármoles, dorados, etc); la pintura mural y ornamental (trampantojos, murales infantiles, etc); la pintura de mobiliario (pátinas, lacados, etc); y la pintura de caballete (obras figurativas y abstractas).
Desde el año 2002 reside en Málaga, realizando trabajos por toda la Costa del Sol, especialmente por la zona de Marbella-San Pedro-Estepona.
Muralist painter with an art degree and Major in Technical Mural Arts from Arts and Crafts School La Palma (Madrid, Spain), with more than 12 years of professional experience.
She develops her activity in very different areas, such as: decorative painting (stucco, marble, gold leave, etc.); mural and ornamental painting (tromp l’oeil, children murals, etc.); furniture painting (patinas, lacquers, etc.); and painting on canvas (figurative and abstract works).
She has been residing in Málaga since the year 2.002, working all over the Costa del Sol, especially in the Marbella-San Pedro-Estepona area.
The world of children's decor, to which she devoted her early professional years, influenced profoundly in her career, which unfolds with all the freedom and creativity it provides. In addition, her motherhood, further emphasized her passion for this world, which led her to create her own collection of children's art in 2009: "Sonsolerías, Art for Children". It is a living collection, which changes every day, updating its designs for a complete customized piece of art, using the preferences and characteristics of the person whom is going to buy it.
Apart from a purely artistic sense, "Sonsolerías" has a clear practical sense and this can be found in the collection along with elements as diverse as embroidered sheet sets, painted lamps, decorative wooden silhouettes, painted on furniture applications ... and, of course, paintings and murals.
DERI WHITE
Hace mucho tiempo descubrí mi amor por el arte mirando a mi madre pintando y dibujando. Seguí esta inspiración y estudié arte y diseño en el Bedford College en Inglaterra y luego fuí a la Universidad de Derby para estudiar diseño textil.
Me he especializado en la creación de retratos realistas de personas y animales. Desde que me mudé a España, me han inspirado también las figuras y los paisajes de Andalucía.
Estoy experimentando constantemente con nuevos temas y técnicas. Amo la gracia y la pasión del flamenco e intento capturar
la energía y el estado de ánimo del momento dentro de mis pinturas.
Inspired by watching my Mother paint and draw, I have had I love of art for as long as I can remember. I studied art & design at Bedford College and then went to Derby University to study textile design.
I specialise in creating realistic portraits of both people and animals. Since moving to Spain I have also been inspired by the figures and landscapes of Andalucía. I am constantly experimenting with new subjects and techniques and love the grace and passion of flamenco and try to capture the energy and mood of the moment within my paintings.

Crear algo propio, inconfundible, solo con la fuerza de una idea y con sus manos, eso siempre ha sido y todavía es el inicio de su trabajo. Ya sea durante la evolución de un cuadro, la creación de un vestido o un bolso o transformar blancas paredes en un hogar cálido...Eso es lo que la mueve. Nacida en Zwickau, Alemania, vivió y trabajo en varias ciudades de todo el país, dirigiendo tiendas de moda y una galería. Hace 12 anos vino a Marbella donde convirtió su afición en una profesión. Sus obras se caracterizan por su trabajo tri-dimensional con diferentes materiales como arena, piedras, seda, madera, metal y todos los colores posibles.
Something of her making, unique, just created by the power of an idea and her hands, this always was and still is the beginning of her work. If it is during the evolution of a painting, the creation of a dress or bag or transformation of rooms into a warm home...This is what motivates her.
Born in the German city Zwickau she lived and worked in various places throughout the country, conducting fashion shops and a gallery. 12 years ago she came to Marbella and made a profession out of her hobby. Her paintings are characterized by three-dimension using different material such as sand, stones wood, silk, metal and all types of paint.
ALMA DEL SOL
Mi padre es un pintor. Siempre estaba admirando sus obras. Cuando vine a vivir a España hace 11 años la luz y los colores me inspiraron tanto que no tenía otro remedio a empezar a pintar. He desarrollado la mayoría de mis habilidades en forma de autoaprendizaje. Creo que no solamente saber la técnica es importante sino también desarrollar la propia creatividad. Pintando un cuadro llego a un momento cuando no solamente mi mente y mis manos realizan una obra de arte y he creado el siguiente lema:
El ojo mira al ebjeto. La mano coge el pincel y mezcla los coleres…pero al final es el ALMA donde se manifiestan inspiración y creatividad. Por tal razón mi nombre de artista es: ALMA DE SOL
My father is a painter. I always admired his work. As I came to live in Spain 11 years ago the light and the colours inspired me so much that I “had” to start to paint as well.
I developed most of my skills by myself. I believe knowledge of technique is important but not for all aspects. An artist also needs space for her/his own creativity. When I paint I come to a point where my mind and hands are working together in harmony and I created the following saying:
The eye visualizes the object. The hand takes the brush and mixes the colours…, but finally it is the SOUL where inspiration and creativity are manifested.
That is why my artist name is ALMA DE SOL (Alma = Soul)
